Markus has a music studio called SayThankYou in Capetown.
Jannes and Ree recently started a company called Shy the Sun. They co-direct commercials from their studio, also in Capetown.
United Airlines “Sea Orchestra”
The Blackheart Gang’s Jannes Hendrikz and Ree Treweek started a commercial production company, Shy the Sun, along with producer Nina Pfeiffer. Their first job, United Airlines, kick started the company in September 2007 and was completed February this year. United was a unique job because they were given an open brief to do what they wished with enough time to craft it to perfection in cinema resolution. The agency BDM gave them incredible guidance to complete an amazing international campaign.

HP Unity Tree
We were approached by the guys from FCB Canada to produce a spot for HP, an online game that ran over Christmas 2006. Ree drew all the elements, Jannes did the video intro and outro, and markus did all of the music and sound effects.
It was a pleasure working with guys like anthony, allan and steve.

hi, its me again. i dont know if you remember me, but it was nearly 2 years ago (i think) that i saw your animation ‘tale of how’ and i asked if there was another part of the story, how did otto get a tree on his back etc etc.
i’ve had the tune stuck in my head for a few days now and i only just remembered you guys. it took me 3 days of thinking and internet searching. i googled all the lyrics i could remember but nothing came up. then just about 5 mins ago i remembered “the black heart” so i googled it and the black heart gang came up and i found you guys! so just to let you know that your work has impressed me so much that it somehow managed to stay in my head for so long, where as all the other animation videos i watched back then i dont even remember 1 of them. yours stuck out the most. i am very happy i found you guys again, and im sure you’ll be glad to know that i remember you. thank you for getting stuck in my head
